I obtain my PhD from TCD in 2013, in the field of computational Linguistics.
Currently, I’m working in computer vision as a postdoc in UCD in collaboration with iKey (www.ikey.ie)
My research focuses on developing algorithms to classify the optic disc of an internet user as being under or over 16 years old. This research has multiple applications such: avoid children from being exposed to inappropriate web content or cybercrime. This research focuses on computer vision methods over images of an optic nerve head rather than the whole retina image and aims to enable a technology that offers safe censorship and protection of our children from internet abuse.
